Diabetic Specialist Care

Annual review appointments: Diabetic patients are sent a letter asking them to come for a non-fasting blood test then will be given an appointment in the next available clinic for the annual review, when a full check up is undertaken. This takes about an hour. You may need to have eyedrops put in which can affect your ability to drive for several hours afterwards.

Six month reviews: Patients are sent a letter for a non-fasting blood test then will see the nurse for a 20 minute appointment a week later in routine surgery.

Eye photography is done yearly at Knighton Hospital. You will receive an appointment through the post.

Appointments with the Dietitian and Podiatrist (Chiropodist) are offered at regular intervals
